Our Childcare Program
Meaningful Learning Through Play
Piccole Stelle Childcare provides licensed In-Home Multi-Age Childcare for children ages 0–5 years in Mission, BC.
Our program offers a balance of learning, creativity, movement, rest and social interaction.
Creative Arts and Crafts
Creative activities allow children to express their ideas and emotions while strengthening fine motor skills, concentration, imagination and hand-eye coordination. We focus on the creative process and encourage children to make their own choices instead of expecting every project to look the same.
Sensory and Science Exploration
Sensory play allows children to discover different textures, colours, shapes, sounds and materials using their senses.
Simple science experiences encourage children to observe, experiment, make predictions and ask questions. These activities help develop curiosity, problem-solving abilities and an early understanding of cause and effect.
Story Time and Early Literacy
Books, stories, songs, conversations and rhymes are included throughout our program.
These experiences support vocabulary, listening, communication and early literacy development. Children are encouraged to look at books, discuss pictures, share ideas and develop a positive relationship with reading from an early age.
Music and Movement
Singing, dancing, rhythm and movement allow children to express themselves while staying physically active.
Music and movement activities support balance, coordination, listening skills, memory and confidence. They also give children an enjoyable way to participate and connect with others.
Pretend and Imaginative Play
Pretend play gives children opportunities to use their imaginations, recreate familiar experiences and explore different roles.
Whether they are preparing pretend meals, caring for dolls or creating an imaginary world, children practice communication, cooperation, creativity and emotional expression.
Circle Time and Group Experiences
Circle time brings children together for songs, stories, conversations and age-appropriate learning activities.
These group experiences help children practice listening, taking turns, participating and expressing their ideas. Circle time remains flexible so younger children can participate according to their comfort and attention level.
Outdoor and Active Play
Physical activity is an important part of healthy childhood development.
Active play supports balance, coordination, strength, gross motor development and overall well-being.
Outdoor activities are planned according to the weather, safety conditions and children’s individual needs
Healthy Snacks
Healthy snacks are provided to help children stay nourished and energized throughout their busy day.
Families are encouraged to share information regarding allergies, dietary restrictions and other food-related needs during enrollment so appropriate arrangements can be discussed.
Multilingual and Cultural Environment
We welcomes children and families from diverse backgrounds. Our multilingual environment includes:

Our Major Focus Area
Early Math and STEM Activities
Children are introduced to early mathematical and STEM concepts through everyday play rather than formal instruction.
Activities may include :

Building and construction
Shapes and patterns
Puzzles and problem-solving
Measuring and comparing
Simple experiments
These experiences help children develop logical thinking, curiosity and confidence in solving problems.
Social and Emotional Development
Children develop social and emotional skills through their daily experiences and interactions.

Full-Time and Part-Time Childcare
We understand that every family has different childcare needs. Full-time and part-time spaces may be available depending on current enrollment.
